Dual-stack is a resilience story

Tor remains the default overlay for most studied markets, but platforms like Nexus advertise I2P as a second path. For researchers, that is less about “more markets” and more about redundancy: if one network path degrades under load or blocking, another stack may still answer.

Dual publication also expands the phishing surface. Attackers can clone a Tor onion, an I2P destination, or both. Treat every new endpoint as hostile until a known PGP signature says otherwise.

Mirror hygiene basics

  • Prefer short, signed mirror lists over long anonymous paste dumps.
  • Record fingerprints and dates when a list changes — sudden mass rotations are a red flag.
  • Open mirrors only from Tor Browser (or a dedicated I2P client for I2P links).
  • Keep security level on Safest when browsing unfamiliar .onion pages.

How this site uses examples

Onion addresses shown on market pages here are fictional educational placeholders. They illustrate format and verification workflows; they are not live marketplace entry points. See the FAQ and privacy policy for how we handle data and disclaimers.
